The Right Hair Syle For Work!

The newest version of the short hair cut is longer layers and fringe in the front with the back cut in shorter, softer layers. You can adopt a nice short trendy hair cut with hair cut short above years on the sides. Another hot favorite is the one where the hairs are drastically cut short from the neck area. You can cut your hair drastically short to show your ears.? Take some time to consider which short hair cut will best suit you. The most important thing to consider with a short hair cut is the upkeep. That's the thing with short hair, it's either too short or needs a cut.?

Find out how to make a short hair cut work best for you. A great cut is the secret to exquisitely coiffed short hair.

Short Hair cuts almost always makes a lady look younger than her age, while long flowing hair tends to make a lady look more matured. That's why older women usually wear short hair or wear it up. Women with thick straight hair is a shorter version of a shag, to keep the overall look from being too boxy or square. I know of at least two women whom I admire and think are beautiful who sport very short, dark hair. However, where my sister lives (Indiana), short-haired women are few and far between. Working women prefer either short hair, knotted hair or a nice and comfortable Joura. I tend to find short hair more attractive overall, but especially on women with pixie or triangle-shaped faces. I am not saying I never dated long haired women but short hair is what I like. I think its because I associate short hair with like middle aged women. Women with short hair always look as if they have somewhere else to go. They have totally broken Chinese traditional concepts of hair-styling - in which long hair is suitable for women and short hair for men. There have been several periods in history when women wore short hair.?

The 60s were a time of liberation when women felt a new equality and power and having short hair made a statement ? Female liberation started to gather pace in everything from hair to clothes.

Many women when they divorce break up with a partner or change career are changing to short hair as a way to indicate a new start and a new found confidence.

It was forced upon her but she looked great and was making the statement - I am confident I Will not be beaten.

2. It Saves time

You can simply wash and go and save time to do more important things than worry about hair care. Does face shape matter?

The best face shape for a crop is oval, but you can have a crop that will suit any face shape and your hairdresser or stylist will advice on which one is best to soften your features, even if you don?t have perfect bone structure.

The short crop is for everyone.

It?s a new year and a new start so why not get with one of the hottest fashion trends of the year a new short cut.

Proper Care For Cowboy Hats

Cowboy hats have been considered as a sign of masculinity for decades. Moreover, the hats are also important parts of American tradition and heritage. The hats first gained popularity in the West and were used by the cowboys for work and social events. But recently, cowboys hats are not only considered functional or cultural. The hats have made the leap from function to fashion. No longer confined to outdoor work and shepherding sheep, the hats made their presence felt in today's fashion scene.

Initially made to withstand extreme weather conditions like rain, snow, and Western heat, contemporary cowboy hats maintain their quality. But as a tribute to modern fashion, the hat styles and materials have varied over the years. Now, there is a number of different designs, styles, and colors. There are even designers whose sole purpose is to make fashionable hats. Despite the evolution of these hats, experts still hold to the popular opinion that custom hats are better. Of course, custom hats are more expensive. According to Joella Torres, making sure that custom hats are cared for properly should be a top priority for consumers. Torres comes from a family of hat makers and currently heads a cowboy hats company. She gives easy maintenance tips for every cowboy hat enthusiast.

First, cowboy hats can take on natural elements like snow or rain. However, before storage, the hats must be air-dried. A common mistake that is fatal to the hats is exposure to heat. A dry and clean corner where the hats can sit until dried is enough. Second, the hats are constructed using fabric and other natural materials like felt or fur. This means that the hats are prone to staining. Torres warns hat enthusiasts not to rub or wipe off thick substances like mud or drips from the hats. Wiping these substances while fresh may cause it to seep into the hats' material, creating unsightly stains. The trick is to let these substances dry completely then scrape them off with rulers or credit cards. For hats made of different materials like shag, regular brushing should keep the sheen longer. Washing these hats are not recommended since washing makes the hair fall off.

Storage is also an important consideration in hat maintenance. Keeping hats in their original boxes consumes too much space. Not to mention that the boxes are prone to insect holes. Torres advises keeping cowboy hats in individual plastic bags with twist tie locks. Cowboy hats are interesting and expensive pieces, so letting insects get to them is tantamount to losing a good investment.

7 Simple Ways To Safe Guard Your Dog This Summer!

If you have a hard time in summer imagine how it must feel under a fur coat! here are some simple tips to help your dog beat the heat.

If you have a hard time in summer imagine how it must feel under a fur coat! here are some simple tips to help your dog beat the heat.

1) Bob The Hair:
If you have a shaggy dog like a pomeranian, Pekinese or any such variation then listen up. Your dog needs a hair cut. Tha hair should be cut with scissors and not shaved. Do not cut around the whiskers but you can carefully trim around the eyes. The less hair on your dog the cooler he will keep. If you have a short haired dog no need for a trim.

2) Play it cool: Food can be lighter and given before it gets hot in the morning and after it cools down in the evening.Depending on the dogs normal diet, reduce or entirely eliminate meat. Replace with soya, mashed or cooked with meat flavour. When a dog is panting give ice to lick.

3) walk on the mild side:
Walks should be taken early and then again after sundown. Don't encourage chasing, fetching games too much.

4) Cool it: If you enjoy airconditioning so does your dog.If you have a cooled space share it with your pooch.

5) No closed encounters: Never leave dogs in a completely closed space. If your dog is home, Leave on the fan. In a car, leave the window partially open.

6) Let it all hang out: Dogs sweat from their tongues so never tie or muzzle the mouth in the summer. Whilst giving medical treatment see if you can hold the head rather than tying the mouth. If you have to tie the mouth be sure to release as quickly as possible.

7) Do not bathe your dog more than once a month. Soap/ Cleansers strip their skin of natural oils and lead to skin irritation. when dirty you can simply towel dry with a damp towel.

Grooming the Affenpinscher

The coat of an Affenpinscher is harsh and rough-textured. His category is short-haired breed. His hair is about one inch in length on the shoulder and body, may be shorter on the rear and tail. The head, neck, chest, stomach and legs have longer, less harsh coat. The mature Affenpinshcer has a mane or cape of strong hair which blends into the back coat at the withers area. The monkey-like expression of the Affenpinscher is created by the longer hair on the head, eyebrows and beard, which stands off and frames the face.

The Affenpinscher with a correct coat needs little attention and no trimming. He should be combed on a regular basis to keep the coat in good condition. You will need a medium- or fine-toothed comb. Brush your Affenpinscher with a nylon or bristle cushion hairbrush to remove loose hairs. One of the best kinds of brushes to use for Affenpinscher brushing is a small good-quality bristle nylon ladies hairbrush. Brushing also helps to keep the coat looking tidy. You want your Affenpinsher to have a ?shaggy,? but neat and smart look. Don?t attempt to make an Affenpinscher too neat and tidy.

The face is scissored to give a round shape when looking at him from the front. The beard is left long for the show dogs. Pet owners, however, sometimes prefer the beard cut shorter. Use a small, fine comb for the air on the face, particularly around the eyes.

Your Affenpinscher needs little bathing. In particular, do not bath your Affenpinscher before being shown because it softens the coat. You want his coat to be rough and harsh in texture, shaggy but neat.

Affenpinscher natural coats will vary as any of the breeds. The differences can be from too short or too long, from very harsh to quite soft, and from straight to varying degrees of wavy. While grooming your Affenpinscher always keep in mind the end result is to enhance the monkeylike look. Coats that show evidence of trimming other than ears and tail are penalized as ?incorrect? in the show ring.

As with all breeds you need to introduce grooming to your Affenpinscher puppy from a young age. You want to teach your Affenpinscher that grooming is a pleasant experience. As part of your grooming routine, check his teeth, nails and ears. Pull out any hair that grows down inside the ears. This will help keep the ears clean and free of infection.

Affenpinscher grooming tips:

?First brush the coat with a slicker rush to remove dead hair.
?Comb thoroughly.
?You can us a finger and thumb to pluck out dead and loose hair. The back half of the body should be smoothed out.
?Shoulders should have longer hair to form the mane. The longer hair should blend in to the smoother rump.
?Brush frequently using your nylon or bristle cushion brush to keep your Affenpinscher looking perfect all the time.
?Try bathing your Affenpinscher in a natural shampoo and be sure to rinse thoroughly.
?Use a general coat-care conditioner for a glossy shine.
?Towel-dry and blow dry or cage dry.
?Use small, straight scissors or thinning scissors to trim the hair outside the ear leathers, from the base of the ear to the tip.
?The face is left natural.
?Hair on the ears should be smooth and trimmed close to the edges.
?Keep your Affenpinscher?s feet looking neat. If the feet get too hair, they can look to big and flat. Neatly trim the excess hair from around the outside of the foot.

As for the tail of an Affenpinscher, if left natural, it resembles a Christmas tree. For the show ring, the tail should resemble a cigar. To achieve the cigar look:

?Hold the tail up and comb the hair backwards before shaping.
?The tip should be slightly rounded and all the straggly ends cut off the tail hair with the scissors pointing downward.

The monkey face of the Affenpinscher is one of its most endearing characteristics. It can be enhanced by a wreath-like of loose, shaggy hair standing away from the skull and framing the eyes, nose and chin. If you prefer a slightly less shaggy look you can comb the hair forward all around the head from behind the ears, and then trim into a circle before brushing back.

Grooming the Brussels Griffon

There are two types of Brussels Griffon ? the Rough and the Smooth. Both are equally delightful companions. The rough coated Brussels Griffon is probably the most common. The smooth coated Brussels Griffon is easier to groom.

The rough coat should be wiry and dense, the harder and more wiry the better. The Brussels Griffon should never look or feel woolly. There should be no silky hair on the Brussels Griffon. The coat of a Brussels Griffon should not be long and shaggy. The rough coated Brussels Griffon should be distinctly different all over from the smooth coated Brussels Griffon. The Brussels Griffon is a rugged little dog that should look natural and not overly trimmed. The Brussels Griffon colors are red, black and black and tan.

The head of a Brussels Griffon should be covered with wiry hair slightly longer around the eyes, nose, cheeks, and chin, which forms a fringe. The smooth coated Brussels Griffon is similar to the Boston Terrier or Bulldog, with no trace of wire hair.

Of all the toy dogs, the Brussels Griffon is one of the most interesting and different. The modern version of the Brussels Griffon is a Belgian street dog crossed with the Affenpinshcer. Throughout the years various breeds were brought in for various features. The most successful crosses were maintained. Over time the terrier-like charm with almost a human expression is what we now know as the Brussels Griffon.

The Brussels Griffon is a rarity among dogs, however, he has faired very well in the show world. Some have become top winners in all-breed competition.

Equipment needed to groom the Brussels Griffon:

?Natural Bristle brush or hound glove
?Medium-toothed comb
?Fine-toothed comb
?Thinning scissors
?Tweezers

The Brussels Griffon needs brushing, bathing, drying, ear cleaning, nail trimming. The coat of a Brussels Griffon also requires hand stripping. Do not use clippers on a Brussels Griffon. The use of clippers will cause the coat of a Brussels Griffon to lose its natural texture and the color will fade.

For routine grooming use a natural bristle brush or hound glove. Regular brushing will reduce the need for frequent bathing. Regular brushing helps keep the coat free of dead hairs and the need for coming is lessened. Over-coming may take out too much live undercoat.

You should work through the coat with a bristle brush, then comb through with a medium-toothed comb. Leave a few hairs on the back between your finger and thumb and gently pull if the hair comes out easily, the coat is ready to strip.

Stripping Method for the body:

1.Start stripping the topcoat of the Brussels Griffon at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades down the back and side of the tail. Note: Always strip with the growth of the hair toward you.

2.Remove the long hairs from the Brussels Griffon thighs.

3.Remove the thick hair growing on the back of the hind legs, and the longest hairs from the front of the legs and feet. Do over strip in this area. The desired appearance of a Brussels Griffon feet are cat-like. Over stripping of the feet can detract from this cat-like look you want to achieve.

4.Strip the shoulders around to the chest. Remove long hairs from the leg.

5.Strip the long hair on the outside of each shoulder, down to the elbow. This will create a straight front which is desirable.

6.Strip the chest at the front to the lowest point.

7.The only place you may use clippers on the Brussels Griffon is under the stomach and around the genital area. You can also scissor this area clear.

8.Take a look at your Brussels Griffon as he stands on the grooming table. Remove all stray hairs that detracts from the smart, balanced look you want to achieve.

Stripping Method for the head of a Brussels Griffon:

1.Start behind the eyes. Strip only a few strands of hair at a time. Work back to each ear and over the top of the head. Leave some longer hairs over the eyes to form eyebrows.

2.Strip the back of the ears, down to the chest. Continue down the side of the neck toward the jawbone. This method of stripping gives a distinct beard that blends into the chest.

3.Comb the beard forward to enable you to pluck the ear and below the beard to the throat. You want a clean neckline and to accentuate the head.

4.Remove long hairs from the inside the ear. The edge of the ear can be closely trimmed with scissors for a neat finish.

5.The point between the eyes, just above the nose is called ?the stop.? This is a tender area of the Brussels Griffon. You will need to use tweezers to remove a small amount of hair in this area.

6.Remove the hairs from the corner of the eye with tweezers or curved scissors. This will prevent the hairs from sticking into the eyes of your Brussels Griffon and/or accumulating debris.

7.Remove the hair of the beard that adjoins the ears in a direct line from the corner of each eye.

8.Tidy around the anus of your Brussels Griffon with scissors or thinning scissors for a neat finish.

9.Trim hair from under the feet and between the toes.

Now you are ready to bathe your Brussels Griffon. Try using a natural mild shampoo and always rinse well. Check the dog?s nails, ears and teeth. You may hand or cage dry your Brussels Griffon.

How often should your Brussels Griffon be stripped? This depends upon whether or not he is a pet or a show dog. For pets, a complete strip twice a year will be sufficient with tidying in between. For the show dog, stripping is ideally done in stages ? side of body and legs first, then back, then head, because they grow in different stages.

How to Take Care of Flokati Area Rugs

Caring for Flokati Rugs

Flokati rugs are very popular style of rug, and many times when you get a shag rug you may not have even realized that you bought a flokati style shag rug. Flokati rugs are usually Greek, made with thick wool, and goes through a unique and rigorous creation process. So we at Plaza Area Rugs get the question quite a bit about best practices in caring for these types of rugs. Below are the three main things you'll encounter during your ownership of a flokati and what to do.

When you first get the rug

When you get the rug, it's likely that it came wrapped up in a roll. If it's a smaller rug, it's possible you'll get it folded up. Either way, once you get it, you'll the hair on the rug is going to be pretty flat. That is common, and all you'll need to do to get it looking in tip top shape is brush it out. I've heard stories about how people try to brush it out... a garden rake seems to work well. So will a really thick hair brush. Whatever you choose to use you want to give your flokati rug a good, strong brushing. Some of the wool will stay in the brush, and that's to be expected. Once you are done brushing your flokati rug will be thick and soft.

Day to Day Maintenance

There isn't much to do for a flokati rug to keep it in great shape. Once in a while take it outside and shake it out hard. That should get any loose items out of the rug that have gotten caught in the wool. If something has been sitting on top of the rug, say the legs of a coffee table or sofa, all you'll want to do is comb out the flattened section. This is really similar to when you first get the rug... the hairs are just pressed down and need a good brushing to get them to be thick and fluffy once again.

Spills on the Flokati Rug

Spilling something on your rug is not the end of the world and cleaning it doesn't require anything too special. If what you spill is dry, for example a cup of flower, simply vacuum it up. Be sure you keep the vacuum on low. If you have it on full suction you will risk sucking out some of the hairs (depending on how strong your vacumm is). If you're not getting any of the substance up, then turn up the setting of the vacuum slowly. Once the bulk of it is sucked up, take the rug outside and shake it out. If you spill something wet take a moment to clean it as soon as possible. Mild soap and warm water is really all you need to clean it up. You could also use a very mild cleaning material, but we don't recommend it unless it has specifically been sold with your rug. Harsh cleaners will take some color out of the rug, and once that happens it's not likely to ever gain that color back.

If you can handle those simple things you should be able to maintain your flokati rug for many, many years. Remember, these rugs have been around for hundreds of years and are built to last. So a little effort now will go a long way in this investment!
